Golden milk

The ginger and turmeric in this recipe are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. They can help reduce inflammation in the body, which is beneficial for individuals with conditions like arthritis or other inflammatory diseases.

Did you know coconut milk actually contains fibre? It’s also a fat source that will stimulate bile, which in turn triggers peristalsis. This helps with the passage of food through the digestive system and promotes regular comfortable bowel movements. What more can you want from your evening drink?

Golden Milk - Ginger & Turmeric Drink

Ingredients

  • 1 tbs Ginger (grated)

  • 240 mls Canned Coconut Milk or Cream

  • 235 mls Water

  • 1 tsp Turmeric (powder)

  • 1 Tbs Honey

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 1/2 tsp Coconut Oil

Grate the ginger then squeeze the juice out of it into a saucepan. Discard the pulp. Add the remaining ingredients to the saucepan and place over medium heat. Heat through for about 3 to 5 minutes, not letting it come to a boil. Whisk continuously.

Carefully transfer into a glass jar and seal with a lid. Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds, or until a foam starts to form. (Note: You can also use a blender for this step, but the turmeric can stain the blender cup.) Pour into glasses through a sieve and enjoy!
